Gowri Ishwaran, CEO
Recipient of the Padma Shri Award in 2004, Gowri Ishwaran is an innovative educationist with over 30 years of experience in leading schools in India. With a very clear vision of the type of educational experience and nurturing that children deserve, she has brought a paradigm shift on how education needs to be imparted to young students. Her expertise lies in creating a value based curriculum, focusing on inclusive education for children with special needs and the socially disadvantaged. Her guiding philosophy is to educate each child to grow into a caring, sensitive, responsible citizen of the world. Her commitment to the Life Skills & Leadership Programme stems from her conviction that “it is only by investing in the young can we secure the future”.
Shiv Vikram Khemka, Executive Chairman
Shiv Vikram Khemka is Vice-Chairman of SUN Group, a leading private investment group with key interests in India, Russia, and West Africa. Shiv was elected a “Global Leader for Tomorrow” (GLT) at the World Economic Forum in Davos in 1997 and is a member of the WEF’s Global Agenda Council on Education. He serves on the Boards of Overseers of The Wharton School, of the Lauder Institute at the University of Pennsylvania, and on the President’s Leadership Council at Brown University. He is a founding member of the Brookings India Initiative and Chairman of The Global Education & Leadership Foundation. He was recently awarded the “Dr. Jean Mayer Global Citizenship Award” by Tufts University, and the “Outstanding Contribution to Education Prize” at Wharton’s ‘Reimagining Education Conference’.
Urvashi Khemka, Trustee
Urvashi Khemka was educated at Welham Girls High School (Dehradun), at Rishi Valley (The Krishnamurti Foundation School) and then at Lady Shri Ram College (New Delhi) with a BA (Honours) in Commerce after which she went back to Kathmandu to manage the family business, Nepal Gas Industries. She is a trustee of The Global Education & Leadership Foundation and has been deeply involved in the launch of Global Citizen India. She is also a founding member of The Shift Series, an organisation whose mission is to inspire out of the box thinking and encourage innovation through conferences, learning experiences and online workshop.
Archana Agarwal, CFO
Archana holds a degree in Commerce from Delhi University, she is also a graduate from The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India. She is a result oriented professional with experience in managing & leading teams for running successful business operations. Archana is a member of Anita Borg Institute Local, which is an organization that helps women technologists in this location to connect with each other; allowing them to learn, get inspired, exchange stories and grow their careers.
Arshpreet Sawhney, Programme Coordinator
As the Programme Coordinator for Nabha and Delhi Schools, Arshpreet Sawhney is responsible for translation of the curriculum and training content into Punjabi. She also trains the school teachers in the Punjabi curriculum and oversees execution of the programme and its initiatives in these schools. Arshpreet has a Graduation degree in Commerce from Ripudhaman College, Nabha and also holds a degree of Visharad in Indian Classical Music from Pracheen Kala Kendra, Chandigarh.
Dheeraj Kumar, System Engineer IT
Dheeraj kr. Chauhan holds a degree in Bachelor of Computer Application from SHIATS university. He has over 8years experience in IT support. In tGELF- As the System Engineer IT, Dheeraj Kr. Chauhan is responsible for help in maintaining Office Internet and Communication Technology networks between our offices within in India and abroad. Co-ordinate and direct computer and server-related activities in an organization. His hobbies are travelling and photography.
Dinu Raheja, Program Director
Recipient of the International Teacher’s Award, Dinu Raheja holds a Masters in English from Purdue University, USA. An innovative educationist, Dinu has over 15 years of teaching experience in the Indian and International Schooling Systems. She has a clear vision of the type of educational experience that is required to nurture the students into ethical, global citizens. Dinu also comes with the experience of an Administrator, Entrepreneur and a Copy Editor and has been associated with The Global Education & Leadership Foundation—tGELF– from its inception. Her commitment to its Leadership Programme comes from her belief in the tenets of the programme and the Foundation. At tGELF, Dinu is the Program Director and is responsible for the Foundation’s all initiatives including teacher development and exchange programmes.
Khayati Dudeja, Programme Coordinator
Khayati Dudeja holds a Post Graduate Diploma in Business Administration with a specialisation in HR from SCDL, Pune. She has also completed one year Post Graduate Diploma in Office Management from New Delhi YMCA. She has 8 years of working experience, which includes working with Corporate Industry as well as an NGO. As the Programme Coordinator, Khayati Dudeja is responsible for establishing and maintaining relationship with tGELF member Schools and communicating with them. She is responsible for coordinating and organising workshops and various events for the tGELF member school teachers and students. She is actively involved in day-to- day operations of the Leadership Programme.
Rahul Augustine, Programme Coordinator
Rahul Augustine holds a degree in English Literature from Delhi University with a diploma in Spanish language. He has over 5 years of experience working with the economically backward section with his expertise in mentoring the underprivileged. As the Programme Coordinator, Rahul Augustine is responsible for communicating with tGELF member schools. He is responsible for organising and conducting workshops for the member schoolteachers and students through conceptual approach to social and personal development. He is involved in developing training modules, curriculum planning and overall reviewing of programme. His belief is to impart knowledge through activity based learning and the art of storytelling.
Sachinn Kapur, Office Manager
Sachinn has been the Administrative Incharge at tGELF since its inception. A post-graduate in Political Science (Hons.) from Delhi University and holds a degree in MBA-Human Resource Management from Symbiosis Centre for Distance Learning, Pune. At the Foundation, Sachinn coordinates the work of the team along with managing all aspects of travel and bookings and other liaison work for the team members.
Surabhi Bhardwaj, Head-Partnership & Impact
Surabhi holds a major in Sustainable Cities and Ecological Study from Delhi School of Economics and is also member on the IUCN ‘Commission on Education and Communication’. She holds a degree in Environmental Law from NLSUI, Bangalore and a certification in Social Impact Strategy: Tools for Entrepreneurs and Innovators from University of Pennsylvania. With a work experience of more than 14 years in education and environment sector, Surabhi enjoys designing education and environment centric programmes for Schools and Corporates. Surabhi has been associated with the Foundation since 2008 and is currently looking after programme partnerships, fundraising, programme sustainability and impact.
Bhakt Prahlad, Accountant tGELF
Dimple Bedi, Programme Coordinator for Chandigarh
An English major, B.Ed with a diploma in Environment and Ecology, Dimple Bedi has 10 years of teaching experience. She is a certified IELTS trainer and holds coaching classes for TOEFL, GRE, GMAT and SAT. She has also trained school students in communication and leadership skills. As the Programme Officer – North, Dimple coordinates member school activities in Chandigarh, Dehradun and Nabha.
Sanna Masood, Programme Coordinator for Srinagar
Ms. Sanna Masood is a biotechnology graduate with masters in marketing and international business. Over a career of more than 8 years she has worked as a grass root development strategy expert in areas of cluster development, sustainable livelihoods, micro-finance, education, sustainable agriculture, artisan and farmer capacity building for various organisations like Fabindia, Indian National Trust for Art & Cultural Heritage – J & K chapter, Craft Development Institute Srinagar, J & K Bank, Asian Heritage Foundation. She joined the tGELF team in 2015 and is currently handling the operations of J & K state.
Saroj Verma, Programme Coordinator for Chennai
Saroj Verma holds a degree in Education, Masters Degree in Psychology, Zoology and certification in German language. She has over 15 years of teaching experience and has been a life skills trainer for 10 years. As the Programme Officer – South, Saroj coordinates member school activities in Chennai and Vijayanagar.
Sejal Modi, Programme Coordinator for Mumbai
Sejal has a rich experience, which spans over a decade in the field of materials management, finance, and education. She has completed her B.A. and B.Ed. and also specialised in early childhood education. Furthermore she is a qualified CAS coordinator and TOK teacher for the IBDP programme, accredited trainer of British Council and done her Cambridge International Diploma for Teachers and Trainers. She believes in an education to young minds that will allow them to understand how to adapt to the changing world around them and become global citizens with a local vision and develop a sense of international mindedness while cherishing the individuality of man and the commonality of mankind.
