The Global Education & Leadership Foundation (tGELF) is a program initiative of The Nand & Jeet Khemka Foundation.
tGELF was founded in 2006, and was officially inaugurated in 2008 by the then Prime Minister of India, Dr Manmohan Singh.
In tGELF, we believe that the world needs to redefine great leadership to encompass critical values that are key to meeting modern challenges. We believe that great leadership essentially implies a deep sense of ethics, altruism and strong leadership capabilities including a bias for action.
To build a cooperative, world-changing community of both ethical and altruistic leaders
To identify, select, support, monitor, mentor, evaluate, connect, and empower ethical and altruistic leaders through partnerships with communities and organizations at all levels committed to improving the inner and outer state of the world.
“We believe in value-based leadership. Great leaders
lead from within, with integrity and selflessness.”
– Gowri Ishwaran, CEO
OUR LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT ECOSYSTEM
tGELF is committed to searching for great potential leadership talent and in order to do that has developed a Leadership and Partnership ecosystem with a broad range of partners.
1. THE LEAD QUEST
Through extended global networks and our own partner ecosystem, we identify and curate young prospective leadership, providing developing leaders with high-profile mentorship and guidance.
2. LEADERS AT SCHOOL
Our Young Leaders platform spans children from kindergarten to grade 12. Through our teachers, millions of aspiring young leaders have been taught our leadership curriculum to foster ethical, altruistic, and values-based leadership. The platform also includes leadership clubs at schools, competitions and conference summits. We also offer a Summer Programme for exceptionally talented high school students.
3. LEADERS AT UNIVERSITY
College students with exceptional leadership qualities and potential are invited to join our Leaders Forum. We currently have 254 young leaders from many of the world’s leading universities. The Forum members convene regularly at our annual Leadership Initiative for Excellence Conferences in the USA and in India. The platform also provides mentoring, internships, and a network of like-minded young leaders, who have the chance to take part in the Global Citizen Festivals in New York and India
4. POST-COLLEGE LEADERS
Through tGELF’s 24-month Leadership Development Programme (LDP), carefully selected members are given an array of different projects and initiatives to spearhead with real responsibility and accountability, providing them with significant opportunities to hone abilities to LEAD. The international LDP team works together to develop and deepen their leadership capacity in six main areas: Business & Entrepreneurship, Politics and Public Service, Arts, Media and Technology, Global Security, Social Service, and Global Wisdom & Spiritual Traditions.
5. OTHER IMPACT PROJECTS
At tGELF we believe in impact at scale. Over the past few years, we have initiated and developed national and international impact projects across four focus areas:
- Education & Skilling
- Entrepreneurship & Innovation
- Social Movements
- Technology for Good
